Well, we got some bad news that Missoula Greekfest has been canceled for 2026.

That doesn't mean the festival calendar is slowing down, though.

Upcoming Events: Oktoberfest and More

We've already talked about the multiple Oktoberfests happening around the Missoula area, and there's another festival kicking off this weekend that you may want to check out.

It's Viva Montana, the Latin Heritage Festival, happening Saturday, September 19, at Caras Park in downtown Missoula from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

This is a celebration of Latin heritage, with food, drinks, live music, dancing, and plenty of things to check out throughout the day.

The mission of Viva Montana goes beyond just putting on one festival each year. The organization is dedicated to celebrating and honoring the traditions and spirit of Latin heritage in our community while creating cultural experiences that bring people together.

Cultural Experience: Food, Music, and Dance

Food, live music, dance, and art are all part of that mission, along with educational opportunities that give people a chance to learn more about Latin culture and participate in the celebrations.

Engagement Beyond the Festival: Year-Round Initiatives

Viva Montana also hosts monthly Latin Nights and seasonal arts and education initiatives throughout the year. The organization says it wants to create accessible opportunities for people to learn, participate, and experience different forms of artistic expression.

There is also an emphasis on working with local and visiting artists and building collaborations throughout the community.

For the Latin Heritage Festival, there will be food trucks available, along with an evening lineup of live music from 4 to 8 p.m.

Then things really kick into another gear, with a full-on dance party under the pavilion from 8 to 10 p.m.

Free and Family-Friendly: Join the Fun!

The best part is that Viva Montana is free to attend and open to all ages.

Discover Local Culture: A Weekend Adventure Awaits

So, if you're looking for something different to do this weekend, you've got another option right here in downtown Missoula.

The Greek Fest may not be happening this year, but there are still plenty of opportunities to get out, enjoy some food and music, and celebrate different cultures right here in Western Montana.
