We argue about everything.

Who makes the best burger? Who has the best pizza? Who makes the best sandwich in Montana?

There always seems to be a list somewhere telling us what restaurant, dish, or sandwich is the best. Honestly, I don't mind the arguments.

Food Arguments: The Fun in Disagreement

For me, there's a pretty big benefit to having these debates.

It gives me an excuse to eat more food.

It also gives me a reason to try something I might not normally order.

Spotlight on Tagliare Delicatessen

This latest sandwich debate involves one of Missoula's most popular delis, Tagliare Delicatessen.

LoveFood.com recently put together a list of the most mouthwatering sandwiches in every state, and its Montana pick comes from right here in Missoula.

It's Tagliare's Megadeath sandwich.

If you've been to Tagliare, you already know part of the fun is figuring out what you're going to order.

The sandwiches have rock 'n' roll-inspired names, including The Queen, The Cure, Sublime, The Beach Boy and plenty of others.

You can also build your own sandwich, which means there's always an opportunity to try something different.

Montana’s Mouthwatering Megadeath

According to LoveFood, though, the one you should really be checking out is the Megadeath.

So What's Actually on the Megadeath?

Flavor Explosion: What’s in the Megadeath?

Here's where things get serious.

The Megadeath comes with ham, finocchiona, hot sopressata, pepperoni, hot capicola, smoked mozzarella, pepperoncinis, tomatoes, "feisty slaw," and feisty sauce

In other words, this isn't exactly a boring sandwich.

There are a lot of flavors happening, and if you like a little heat with your sandwich, the Megadeath certainly delivers.

That's also part of what makes these "best of" lists fun.

Maybe you agree with the person who put the list together.

Maybe you think they're completely wrong.

Either way, now you've got something to argue about.

Here's my problem.

I've been a big fan of the Cure for a while now.

I get mine without tomatoes because, well, I'm just not a big tomato-on-my-sandwich guy. I know that's probably going to start another argument, but that's just how I roll.

The Cure has been my go-to.

Now LoveFood has gone and put the Megadeath on the map.

Challenging Your Sandwich Comfort Zone

So the next time I walk into Tagliare, I'm probably going to have to break out of my normal routine and give it a shot.

I mean, somebody has to find out if it's really as good as LoveFood says it is, right?

That's the beauty of these lists.

They give us something to talk about, something to disagree about and, most importantly, something else to eat.

Tagliare’s Locations: A Convenience for Fans

Tagliare originally opened on South Higgins and has since expanded to the Old Sawmill District on Wyoming Street.

The deli now has a third Missoula location inside the University Center at the University of Montana.

So congratulations to Tagliare on another piece of national attention.

As for me?

I'll see you at Tagliare.

And yes, I'm probably ordering the Megadeath.
