For people who haven't spent a lot of time in Missoula, it can be difficult to find your way around. Maybe that's a bit of an understatement.

This town can be downright frustrating and confusing to navigate. That is one of the reasons, when I see someone with out-of-state plates or Montana license plates that don't start with a 4, I try to cut them some slack.

Missoula is not only home to one of the most dangerous streets in the state, Reserve Street, but also some of the most confusing streets in the country. Don't just take my word for it. AOL.com agrees.

Missoula's One of the Top Confusing Street Layouts in the U.S.

AOL.com put together a list of the "10 Cities with the Most Confusing Street Layouts" and Missoula is on the list.

Some of the confusion lies in the landscape of Missoula. We have a downtown that has a river and railroad tracks that run through it. We also have steep hills in our town. If that isn't enough we have the "slant street" neighborhood that is laid out completely different than the surrounding streets.

We also have deer on our roads that we have to contend with.

Some of the other cities that made the list are Boston, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles, California.

There is one other small city that made the list, and that is Clarksburg, West Virginia. They have to contend with steep hills and streets that stop behind buildings.

I have driven in six of the top ten cities on the list, and out of all of them I still prefer to drive here in Missoula.
