There’s been some news from the Farmers’ Almanac. They have announced that 2026 is going to be the final year they will be printing their almanac, and will close their website down this December. They have been around since 1818, and released a letter to their followers on their website announcing the closure.  

Farmers’ Almanac Announces Closure After Two Centuries

Not to be confused with the Old Farmer’s Almanac, which has been around since 1792. After the announcement from Farmers' Almanac, the Old Farmer's Almanac wanted to assure everyone that they aren’t going anywhere. The Old Farmer's Almanac has released both Thanksgiving and Christmas forecasts for 2025.

According to the Christmas forecast, Montana can expect warm weather for the holiday, which could be good news for travelers, but not the best news for skiers and snowboarders.  

How the Old Farmer’s Almanac Differs

Eastern Montana is included in the “High Plains” forecast and that is calling for “quite warm” temperatures, and a chance of rain or snow showers for the holiday. As for travel, be careful of slick spots that can occur from the brief showers.  

Montana’s Christmas 2025 Forecast: Warm and Wet?

Western Montana, part of the “Intermountain” region, is expected to be warm, with showers in the east and sunny in the west. Travel advice is that Western roads may be clear that week, while Eastern roads may be wet and slippery.
