I know we're still in the middle of summer here in Montana, and the weather certainly isn't making it feel like fall yet.
But I'm going to say it anyway.

Halloween is coming.
It's one of my favorite holidays of the year, and apparently, I'm not the only one getting ready. Halloween decorations have already been showing up at stores like Costco and Home Depot for the past couple of weeks.

Now the big store is open. Spirit Halloween is officially open, giving Missoula Halloween fans plenty of time to get ready.

Located at 1212 Longstaff, right off Russell Street, near Boyce Lumber.
If you're a Halloween person, you know exactly what happens when you walk into a place like this.
You start with one idea.
Then you see something else.
Then another thing catches your eye.
Before you know it, you're walking out with a completely different Halloween plan than the one you had when you walked in.
That's actually one of the best reasons to go right now.
The shelves are being stocked, there's plenty to choose from, and you have a better chance of finding what you want before the popular stuff starts disappearing.
A Creepy Cabin Experience: Montana's Spookiest Theme
One of the displays that immediately caught my attention.
It looks like a creepy Montana cabin scene.
You've got log cabins, woods, a canoe, and, because this is Halloween, a skeleton in the canoe.

It immediately reminded me of Friday the 13th and that classic horror-movie feeling of being somewhere deep in the woods where you probably shouldn't be.

Which, honestly, is a pretty effective Halloween theme for Montana.
We already have the mountains, the forests, and the remote cabins.
All you really need to add is a creepy soundtrack and a skeleton in a canoe.

And here's another reason I like checking out places like Spirit Halloween.
You don't necessarily have to go in knowing what you're looking for.
Just walk around.
You can get ideas for costumes, decorations, parties, and even things you could do around your house for Halloween.

So, yes, I realize we're still dealing with summer temperatures.
