Montana has already gotten a taste of what winter may bring. You can look at the mountains and see the snow at higher elevations. There have been forecasts for what we can expect for the rest of fall and into winter.

As we start to make our plans for the upcoming holiday season, it’s not too early to look ahead to see what we can expect, especially for those who are planning on traveling. The Old Farmer’s Almanac has announced its forecast for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
What the Old Farmer’s Almanac Predicts for Montana
According to their forecast, most of the state is going to be seeing cool and chilly weather, which is pretty normal for that time of year.

The Eastern part of Montana, which is included in the “High Plains” region of their forecast, is expected to see cold weather, “but skies remain dry and clear”. Those traveling should have “good visibility, and easy conditions.” It will be cold so make sure you pack warm clothes for your trip.
Thanksgiving Travel Conditions Across the State
Western Montana is included in the “Intermountain” region, according to the Almanac. The forecast for the region is a drop in temperatures with a chance of rain and snow. “While conditions vary by elevation, travelers should anticipate occasional disruptions—especially in mountain passes and higher terrain.”
Forecasts in Montana can change quickly, but for now, Thanksgiving travelers can start preparing.
