Montana Shippers Face USPS Holiday Price Increases Starting Oct. 5
For a lot of people, it may be a little early to start thinking about the holiday season, but for the United States Postal Service (USPS), they are already planning for the holidays. As of September 15, Operation Santa is underway, and the post office is accepting letters from families and kids across the country.
When Do USPS Holiday Price Increases Begin?
The USPS has announced that starting on Sunday, October 5, there is going to be a temporary price increase for the holiday season. The increase will affect Priority Mail Express (PME), Priority Mail (PM), USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select and run through the holiday season until midnight January 18, 2026.
The rate increases are part of the Delivering for America 10-year plan.

Priority Mail Flat Rate will increase by $1.45 for large flat rate boxes, and $0.90 for all other flat rate products.
All other price increases on the affected products will depend on the weight of the package and to what zone they are being sent.

Will USPS Raise Stamp Prices in 2026?
There is some good news on the horizon. First, the price increases are planned to be temporary. Second, there is no stamp price increase planned for January 2026, at the recommendation of Postmaster General David Steiner.
