
Montana Ranked America’s Least Romantic State for Valentine’s Day
The great thing about being in Montana is that we know what the state is really like. We know where the best places are to visit, eat, or just hang out. So, when we see Montana make lists, sometimes we agree with them, and sometimes we don’t.
Recently, Revelence.com released their list of America’s Most Romantic States for Valentine’s Day. Wouldn't you know it, Montana didn’t rank very high.
As a matter of fact, Montana ranked dead last.
How the Romance Ranking Was Determined
A study from The Resorts Collection analyzed Tripadvisor reviews for where the term ‘romantic’ appeared when it comes to hotels, restaurants, landmarks, and nature and parks. In the romance department, it looks like Montana needs a bit of a boost.
Why Montana Might Be Underrated for Romance
There are plenty of romantic locations in Montana in February; you just have to know where to look. Montana has its share of romantic cabin rentals, hotels, hot springs, and restaurants. In mid-February, a lot of these places aren’t very busy, so you can enjoy the company of your significant other without the crowds. For us, that is part of what romance is all about.

According to the rankings, Rhode Island is the top romantic state for Valentine’s Day, followed by Texas, Washington, New York, and Ohio.

We may be biased, but we find it hard to believe that Montana isn’t considered a more romantic destination than Iowa, North Dakota, or Mississippi.
Maybe it’s a good thing that Montana ranks at the bottom, which leaves more romantic places for us to explore on our own.
