Missoulians are a generous group of people. Many give and help out when they can. We witnessed it with our annual "Guerrilla Turkey Drive", which saw hundreds of people donate turkeys to help out the communities that need it.

Today is 'Giving Tuesday' it's a day where we can look at ways to help and give to our communities. For our community, it doesn't have to happen on just one day. The City of Missoula is giving back through the entire month of December. For every food donation, which will go to the Missoula Food Bank, the Missoula Parking Commission will deduct $2 from any parking ticket balances up to $20.

With cold weather moving into Montana, there is a place where a person can go and get some knitted gloves or hats with no questions asked. There is a 'giving tree' with winter items available at the First Presbyterian Church located at 235 South 5th Street West.

When it comes to Montana charities, the most searched charity is the Wounded Warrior Project according to Coventry Direct. Their mission is to "honor and empower wounded warriors." It goes to show that Montanans appreciate the men and women who have served our country.

There is another event that is coming up this Friday, for those who want to give back. The annual "KYSSMAS for Kids" kicks off bright and early. The goal of this event is to make sure that area children have a gift for Christmas. Last year the event raised over $80,000 for area children. We could use your help again this year with an online auction. If you can help out charities and organizations in our community, please remember that it is the season of giving, and there are a lot of people out there who can use some help this time of year.
