In Missoula, fitness doesn't always mean treadmills and dumbbells. For many locals, staying in shape means getting outside, trying something different, and having a little fun along the way. From floating yoga classes to aerial silks, Missoulians are finding creative ways to break a sweat.

Paddleboard Yoga on the Clark Fork

For a scenic workout,  SUP Yoga offers paddleboard yoga on the Clark Fork River near Caras Park. These classes combine balance, core strength, and relaxation, all while floating on water. It’s a full-body workout with a view.

For those of you who want to work out with a furry friend, Puppy yoga combines the relaxation of yoga with the joy of interacting with adoptable puppies. Brio Fitness has hosted past puppy yoga events. These events help socialize puppies, raise funds for rescue organizations, and offer a fun, stress-relieving experience for participants.

If you prefer a more cliffside atmosphere to your fitness, Freestone Climbing Center offers indoor bouldering for all skill levels. No ropes, no problem, just strength, focus, and the challenge of reaching the top. It’s a favorite among locals who want something to train grip strength and mental agility.
