Missoula was buzzing with activity this over the weekend. Friday got things going downtown with the "First Friday" events, including the return of the "Parklets". But Saturday was a day to behold. So many events were happening including the opening of farmers market season.
Missoula is lucky to have not just one farmer's market, we have three. Each has its own specialties. If the crowds were an indication it looks like Missoulians were excited for the markets to be open for the season.

Missoula's Farmers' Market takes place at its original location at the end of Higgins Avenue and runs Saturdays through October, 8 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. (9 a.m. start time in October). There is produce, baked goods, food trucks, and live music. This year there are many events planned, including this Saturday in honor of Mother's Day there will be free starter plants for the first 50 mothers who stop by the information booth. This year the market will be celebrating its 53rd year.
Missoula' s People's Market, located on West Pine Street, runs Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. This market focuses more on artists selling jewelry, art, woodwork, clothing and more. You may even catch some live music through the day there too.
The Clark Fork River Market, is located at 225 Pattee Street, in the parking on the East side below Beartracks Bridge. This market runs Saturdays 8 a.m.-1 p.m. until October 25 (9 a.m.- 1 p.m. in October). This market offers a selection of prepared food, fresh produce, food trucks, and even meat.
The markets will be running regardless of what the weather will be going forward. In the meantime, we couldn't have asked for a better day to kick off the season.
