
Discover The Latest Updates For Visiting Glacier National Park In 2025
Spring is on the horizon and with that comes travel and tourist season. One of the more popular sites for visitors coming to Montana is Glacier National Park. The park is so popular that it has gotten to where visitors need reservations to be able to enter the West side and Going-to-the-Sun Road and the North Fork.

Now there is another issue that is going to affect visitors to the park, specifically if you are planning on visiting Many Glacier or the Swiftcurrent area. According to the National Park Service, personal vehicles are going to be extremely limited from that area from July 1 through September 21, 2025. Construction in the area began in 2024 and will continue through mid-May, 2026.

The Many Glacier Hotel, Swan Mountain Outfitters, and Glacier Park Boat Company will operate as usual in 2025. "There will be no vehicle entry into Many Glacier without a shuttle ticket, or commercial service or lodging reservation".
Hiking shuttle passes can be purchased at Recreation.gov. For horseback riders and boaters that have reservations, you will be able to enter the park by showing your reservations at the park entrance when it is staffed. Parking for horseback riders and boaters will be available at the Many Glacier Hotel.

As part of the press release, Glacier National Park Superintendent Dave Roemer stated, "2025 will not be an ideal year to plan to visit the Many Glacier valley, but we will have those projects complete, with new formalized parking in 2026".
All access to Many Glacier trails will start in the Many Glacier upper parking lot, with signed detours around the construction area. With the detours, the Park Service reminds hikers that hike times may vary.
