When springtime hits Missoula and we finally come out of our hibernation there are usually a lot of activities to choose from happening around town. This weekend is no exception.

This Saturday, Downtown Missoula is going to be especially busy, so be prepared.

Missoula's WildWalk Parade

The annual WildWalk Parade will be taking place at 11 a.m. The parade will start at the parking lot where the Clark Fork Market has been and then will travel North on Higgins towards the X's. The parade will go the opposite direction that parades normally travel. At the end of the parade will be Wild Fest with vendors, food trucks, and music as the event kicks off the 48th Annual International Wildlife Film Festival at the Roxy Theater.

While the WildWalk is winding down, there is a protest planned just a few blocks away on the Missoula Courthouse lawn.

The last protest held on April 5 was a "Hands Off" protest and there were thousands of people in attendance. The lawn in front of the Missoula Courthouse couldn't hold all of the protesters at the same time.

There are more protests planned this Saturday, April 19 across the country and in Missoula. The protest is part of the "50501" movement, which stands for "50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement."

With Bernie Sanders planning an appearance in Missoula this week, this weekend's protest has the potential to be big.

Whatever your plans are this Saturday, just know that if you plan to visit Missoula's Downtown it will be very busy with both a parade and a protest planned.
