With temperatures expected in the mid-to-upper 90s this coming week, you play a little fast and loose with the term "fall camp."

But, per the NCAA, the number of days is limited and fan excitement and anticipation are in high gear. So you dedicated University of Montana Grizzly football fans will want to know when you can get out there and sweat it out next to the guys on the practice field!

With media and Big Sky Conference members making them the preseason favorites, the Griz carry the added weight of expectations into fall camp beginning this Monday, August 8. UM Sports Information Director Eric Taber reports that Monday is officially the first of 18 preseason practice days leading up to the 2022 season opener, a home game against Northwestern State of the Southland Conference.

Players will be reporting Friday for a couple of days of meetings, equipment fittings and walk-throughs, no doubt anxious to get out and hit each other a little bit, in spite of the blistering heat. Then practices will get underway Monday at Dornblaser Field at UM's South Campus Stadium complext.

Practices are scheduled to start at 2:30 each afternoon. The first 11 of those 18 practices are open to the public, and all practices remain open for Griz Quarterback Club members.

Unless the extreme heat alters the schedule to some evenings, here is the calendar:
