Social media can be a wonderful thing. There are people out there doing incredible work, and then there are people doing things that are just plain fun.

Take the Pear Car, for example.

Introducing the Pear Car Phenomenon

If you're wondering what the Pear Car is, it's exactly what it sounds like. It's a small scooter that's been customized to look like a giant pear. The creator behind it set out on an ambitious journey, driving the Pear Car across the country from Florida all the way to Washington State. Along the way, the creator has been documenting the trip on social media, and thousands of people have been following the adventure.

Now, what does that have to do with us here in Montana?

The Pear Car has officially made it into the Treasure State. Unfortunately, according to a recent social media update, the vehicle suffered a breakdown just outside of Missoula.

The good news? It broke down near a town that should have no problem finding someone handy enough to get a pear-shaped scooter back on the road.

Thankfully, the Pear Car is getting close to its final destination. Based on previous videos from the trip, the little vehicle tops out at around 40 miles per hour, making the cross-country journey quite an adventure. With Washington just ahead and some questionable weather in the forecast, the final stretch may be challenging.
