Another day, another story about how you can't trust everything you read on the internet.

Did you see any information anywhere that the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store chain would be closing? It might have been an ad, or an article titled "Last Call: These Chain Stores Are Closing Locations in 2023."

This might seem odd because we just had a story about a fun promotion the restaurant is doing with Dolly Parton. The new rewards program will be available at both the Missoula and Billings locations of the Cracker Barrel restaurant. Turns out, this claim has been determined "False" by the fact-checking website snopes.com.

In the article from Snopes, they have examples of the ads and they quote part of the article from Investing.com that suggests the chain could be closing some of its locations. The ads themselves were more explicit, saying "Closing Time: Al the Restaurant Chains Closing" and had a picture of a Cracker Barrel.

The Daily Leader had an interview with Jordan Liles, from Yahoo! Finance and the author of the Snopes.com article, who said he received an email from a Cracker Barrel spokesperson that said, "At this time, we do not have any store closures planned. We remain fully committed to serving our guests and communities in our more than 660 stores across 45 states."
