ESPN has invested a little more in the Big Sky Conference over the last few seasons. The Worldwide Leader in Sports' deal with the Big Sky was extended this past offseason and expanded national broadcast coverage.

Football broadcasts doubled from just two games to four across the ESPN family of networks, with at least 5 basketball broadcasts, including both the men's and women's Big Sky championship games in Boise. Plus, Big Sky Olympic sports will continue to stream on ESPN+.

ESPN has been great for the Big Sky, but they made a forehead-slapping mistake on Saturday for the Griz-Vandals game.

White wore number 6 last year, Wortham wears number 6 this year, so I understand where the confusion comes from. It's also tougher for an ESPN graphics producer because they aren't totally in tune with FCS football. They don't cover many games, so it's not common knowledge who these players are.

But you can also argue it's lazy and does a disservice to the FCS.

It seemed like an honest mistake. There's no need to go pitchforks and torches on ESPN, Griz fans. We appreciate the coverage.
