Missoula Golfers Delighted, One Driving Range Surprisingly Open
It is difficult as a golf fan for me to have an office overlooking a golf course. It doesn't matter the time of year. It is hard in the winter because I can't wait for the season to start. It is twice as difficult during golf season because I dream of being on the course and not behind a microphone or keyboard.
One Driving Range in Missoula is Open
For all those golf fans that have been waiting patiently for the opportunity to hit the links, the Linda Vista Golf Course sent out some great news via Facebook yesterday. The driving range is open. The question with the weather in Montana, is for how long? In case you missed it, last year they had a celebrity play their course.
You Can Get the Tokens At the Miller Creek Cafe
According to their Facebook page, the pro-shop is not open at the golf course, yet. If you want to hit a bucket of balls you will need to purchase tokens for the ball machine from the Miller Creek Cafe when they are open. They open on weekdays at 11am and 9am on weekends. The opportunity to hit a bucket of balls outside may not last long.
The Missoula Forecast is Changing Quickly
According to the National Weather Service, it looks like the warm spell we have been seeing across the state is leaving quickly. The forecast for this Saturday and Sunday is calling for a mix between rain and snow. The forecasted high for Saturdays is 38 degrees and the forecast for Sunday is 36 degrees. Next weeks extended outlook looks to have the high temps back into the mid to upper 30's. That may be a bit too cold for hitting a bucket of balls.
Any Chance to Hit A Bucket of Balls
You may get the chance to hit some balls for only a day or two, but that little bit may help you knock off the "rust" from winter and maybe you will be a bit more ahead of the game this spring when all Missoula courses open. I, for one, always appreciate any opportunity to go out and hit a bucket of balls.
