Whenever we hear about a band doing a pop-up concert somewhere, it’s usually in a big city, like Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago. It’s not often you hear of a popular artist doing a pop-up show in Montana, let alone in a field somewhere in Montana.

That happened yesterday. Popular Canadian artist Daniel Caesar held a concert just outside of Bozeman, Montana, yesterday evening. He’s been doing pop-up concerts in the northwest recently to promote his upcoming album “Son of Spergy”, scheduled for release on Friday, October 24.

The pop-up concert almost didn’t happen. According to one of Caesar’s Instagram posts, he said, “the feds shut us down,” and they were looking for a new location. As fans were scrambling around Bozeman, trying to guess the new location, they were waiting for an announcement from Caesar, which finally came later in the afternoon.

Caesar's original post announcing the Bozeman show got over 227 thousand likes from some of his 3.6 million followers.

The concert ended up taking place on private property with permission from some generous Montanans who are fans of music. There wasn’t merchandise available at the show, just photos, videos, and memories.
