With another day comes another scam. This one is being targeted at the over 2 billion Apple product users. It is also pretty sophisticated. If you use an iPhone, iPad, or Mac computer you could be at risk.

According to Forbes, the scam begins with a text message that states that your Apple ID has been suspended along with a link to fix the issue. The text and the link both look convincingly like they are legitimate Apple communications. Not only that, the scammers will then follow up with a phone call to try to get your personal information.

Don't fall for this scam. We have seen lots of scams lately and one common feature is the need for a quick response. Before you click, take a minute to think about what you are being asked to do. Apple offers some tips on how to recognize and avoid scams.

If you are suspicious of any text, phone call, or email, treat them as if it is a scam and don't respond. You should reach out directly to the person or business if you have concerns. Apple has lots of ways for you to report phishing scams. The Federal Trade Commission also has a website to report suspicious activities. You can find the official site here.

With the holiday season in full swing and with people shopping online more, there is more opportunity to fall for scams. Be vigilant and make sure you take precautions to ensure you don't fall victim yourself.
