Advertising works. I can say this because as I was growing up I would hear radio commercials and see TV commercials for places that weren’t available to me in my hometown.  

I can’t tell you how much I wanted to eat at a Red Lobster when I was younger. To this day, Missoula still doesn’t have one.  

Being in Montana means that we do without quite a few things. That is what happens when you live in a state that doesn’t have a large population and big cities. If you want certain things, you will need to travel.  

Sometimes you don’t know what you have until it’s gone. There have been quite a few businesses in Missoula that have gone away over the years that people still miss. Who knew it would be the last time I would ever get a thin crust pizza from Tower Pizza?

Missoula offers a lot, but it doesn’t have everything. There are some things that are just missing from here. I know of a few things that I would like to see here in town, but I was curious what other people think is missing from Missoula.  

So we asked our listeners to name one thing that is missing from Missoula. We got over a thousand responses.

A lot of people used the question to voice their opinions about city government, local drivers, city planners, and other grievances.

But there are a lot of people who miss restaurants and businesses from the past. There were also a lot of responses from people who want businesses to come to Missoula that haven't been here before.
