A recent article in U.S. News and World Report forecasts what the 2023 housing market will look like for millennials and Gen Z.  As many have reported, low inventory, high prices, and low mortgage rates have created a market that is difficult to break into. The problem, according to the experts cited in the article, isn't going to improve anytime soon. The article also acknowledges that potential buyers may need "extra creativity for those looking to buy in the next year."

So what about having a tiny house? Is that feasible in Montana? According to thetinylife.com, the short answer is yes.

Where to Put Your Tiny House

The site identifies not only the cities in Montana that are "friendly" toward people who have or want tiny homes (Bozeman, Missoula, and Helena) but provides necessary state codes as well if you want to try outside of those areas.

You'll want to know whether or not you can have a foundation or if your tiny home can be on wheels. You'll also want to decide if you want to be part of a tiny home community or find your own land. You'll want to do a little research on the codes/regulations in the Montana city where you want to live, and you can find those linked at thetinylife.com, too.

Current Tiny Houses for Sale

At the time of this writing, thetinylife.com featured three tiny homes, all for sale under $100,000 with two of them located in Montana and one in Jackson, Wyoming. Even with the designation as a tiny house, the three listings varied in size and style.
