It is hard for me not to get nostalgic about summertime growing up in Montana. The changes that have happened over the years in Montana as I have grown up, make me look back with fond memories. I never want to be a "kids these days will never understand", kind of person, but it is true. Kids these days will never understand.

Freedom as a Kid in Montana

Looking back and remembering the good times I had as a kid, there was so much fun and so much to do. If I had to narrow it down to one thing though, it would have to be the freedom that I had as a kid. I had the freedom to be a kid and explore and have fun. I am not just talking about not having my parents looking over my shoulder. I am talking about the freedom away from mobile devices, social media, and screen time. The freedom to be a kid.

Summer as a Kid in Montana was Awesome

My list gets longer after the freedom to be a kid. Jumping in a Montana lake. Drinking from a hose. Riding my bike for hours with my friends. Skateboarding where we were not allowed. Watching a Montana sunset light up the sky. Lighting off my own fireworks and the smell of a punk. Knowing every back street, alley and ditch in the neighborhood. Coming home when the streetlights came on.
