Shooting TV shows for Hollywood has been happening in Montana for a while now. If you haven't been aware of the success of Yellowstone, I am not sure where you have been hiding. The last season of Yellowstone is currently being filmed in Western Montana. They have been shooting this month in and around downtown Missoula. They have also been casting for extras in Western Montana for the show.

Yellowstone isn't the only film project that is using Montana as a backdrop for their story. If you are an actor or actress looking for something a little different. There is a short film that will be filming in the Malta area in early September. According to Montana Film, they are casting for roles for this non-union film.

Filmmakers Are Looking for Montana Residents

They are looking for people that live in Montana for the roles that are available. They are looking for characters that have a "small town" vibe. The filming won't last long, and they are paying "day rates", no travel or lodging included. They have four roles that they are casting for.

  • Theater Manager- Male 30s-40s
  • Kendra- Female 35-40
  • Darren- Male 18-young 20s
  • Lil- Female 50s plus

Submission Deadline is Very Soon

The deadline for submitting audition information is the end of the day on July 25th. They have all the information and specifics on what is needed for the upcoming film online. Who knows? This could be the chance to find the next Montana acting talent, like Gary Cooper, or Lily Gladstone. Good luck to everyone who tries out for the film.
