Montana Restaurant Serves Some Nostalgia When You Pay Your Bill
This just might lead to bigger tips.
A restaurant in Montana has a clever way of delivering the bill when diners are done eating.
Have You Eaten at The Old Post in Missoula?
In October of 2019, The Old Post Pub closed, much to the dismay of many Missoulians. However, it reopened under new ownership and with a new look. Even with the renovations it still feels, in a lot of ways, like The Old Post we all knew and loved.
Along with a new look and a new menu, The Old Post has a very comfortable patio, and they reopened the basement for private dining. But there's one other change that brings a bit of whimsy to the place.
Here's What Your Bill Will Look Like at The Old Post
Instead of getting one of those boring black folders with your bill, the waitstaff brings out a book with your bill tucked inside. Usually, the books are old ones, like this copy of the Hardy Boys. It's not just the book that brings a bit of joy, but what you might find inside.
In this book, there's a running tally of whether patrons prefer tequila or vodka. As you can see, tequila is winning. Other books have amusing doodles.
But maybe the best part is the way people treat it like signing a yearbook, or a guestbook at a bed and breakfast. Check out all the well wishes inside this one:
If you can't quite make it out, some of the messages say things like, "Fantastic food & music, love it here - David & Janet aka Santa and Mrs. Claus," or "First visit of many more to come. Thank you great service, great food!" and maybe my favorite, "The food here tastes so good! Thank you! - US Forest Service International Program."
