Over the course of the next week, Montana skies may get the opportunity to see some amazing celestial events. That is, If the weather cooperates.

There are going to be two meteor showers happening at the same time on the nights of July 29 and 30. Montana skies will offer the opportunity to view something we haven’t seen in almost a decade. But the Perseid Meteor Shower is happening now.

The weather outlook for next week is a “good news, bad news” situation. We may see some clouds and rain move into the area, which is great for our dry conditions, but isn’t ideal for sky viewing.

For those who want to experience something new in Montana that may give them some amazing views of our night skies, you can check out Stay at The Views, which opens very soon.

What Makes This Weekend’s Event So Rare?

This weekend, the weather looks to be much better for watching some events in the sky and right now there is a very good chance we may see some Northern Lights across Montana.

According to the NOAA forecast, the Northern Lights may be seen in quite a few states tomorrow night.

How Far South Will the Northern Lights Reach?

This looks like a major solar event and the Northern Lights may be seen in parts of Washington, Idaho and as far south as Wyoming, South Dakota, and even Iowa.
