Montana has some pretty amazing places. Our two national parks, rivers, lakes, mountains and plains are part of what make our state special. We also have a wide array of wildlife, including bears. Sometimes both of those things go together, and not in a negative way.

Be Bear Aware Everywhere in Montana

With hunting seasons in Montana kicking into gear, you may want to be prepared when you go out. Having bear spray as an option in Montana may be a thing of the past. You also may want to make sure that you check the expiration date on your bear spray before you head out into the woods. You never know when you are going to run into a bear these days in Montana, maybe even taking in a concert.

River Goers Can Listen To Live Music at the Kettlehouse

The Kettlehouse Amphitheater is a pretty special venue with the river running right behind it. There have been many a brave rafter that have pulled out of the river and listened to live music from some pretty amazing artists. I haven't had the courage to be on the river until a concert is over, around 11pm, that's a bit late for me. Normally any live music that I have been lucky enough to hear on the river has been a band soundcheck during the day.

Both Bonnie Raitt and Jimmy Buffett Played Missoula's Famous Concerts

Bonnie Raitt took it all in stride and even acknowledged the bears on the mountain. How Montana is that? Bonnie Raitt has played Western Montana a few times before this. Many decades ago she was one of the artists that played at one of the famous "Aber Day Keggers" in Missoula. Jimmy Buffett, who recently, passed away also played at an "Aber Day Kegger". Jimmy Buffett had ties to Montana and has written more than one song about Montana towns.

Montana Outdoor Concert Season is Wrapping Up

The Montana outdoor concert season will be wrapping up soon and shows will be moving inside. We won't be able to get a look at wildlife while listening to live music for a while. When that happens we will just have to settle for "people watching", which is sometimes even more entertaining.
