
Old Farmer’s Almanac Reveals Montana’s 2025 Peak Fall Colors
Looking out the window, we can already see the leaves starting to change color. We are still a way off from having to cover our pumpkins from the impending frost that will eventually make its way to Montana.
Montana is home to two national parks that, and in my opinion, both of which are best enjoyed in the fall. There are a few reasons for that.
Why Fall Is the Best Time to Visit Montana’s Parks
There are fewer people visiting Yellowstone and Glacier in the fall. The weather is not too cold to be outside, especially this year if the forecast comes true. The colors truly are beautiful in Montana in the fall.

The East Coast is known for its fall foliage, but Montana is underrated when it comes to watching leaves change color every fall. Even though we have our share of evergreen trees that won’t be changing color, there are still enough trees that change color and can be quite spectacular.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac has forecast the dates when Montana’s fall foliage colors will be at their peak for 2025.

The further north you go, the sooner the colors change. For Montana, mid-September through the beginning of October are the peak viewing days for fall foliage.
