
Missoula Parents Recommend the Best Spots to Take Kids on a Summer Day
Summertime in Missoula means the temperatures are rising. When the kids get bored, they need something to do for entertainment.
These days there is a real need to get the kids away from the screens and spend some time outdoors.

The minute I got a bicycle as a kid growing up in Missoula, I was gone most days. From about noon until the street lights came on, I was exploring and keeping busy. Whether it was water balloon fights with my friends, biking down to the river, or just exploring, we kept busy.

As Missoula has grown and changed over the years, some of the places that we used to explore as kids are gone. But that doesn't mean there isn't a lot for kids to do on a hot summer's day.
We wanted to know what some of the best places are to take kids on a hot summer day in Missoula. We asked and you guys had a lot of great suggestions, and not all of them require an entrance fee.
Some suggestions were places that I was lucky to be able to enjoy as a kid. Lion's Park, located by Sentinel High School, was one of those places that my mother would take us, and we would run through the turtle sprinklers. After that, if we were lucky, we would be able to get a treat at the Higgins DQ. To this day I still appreciate a chocolate Dilly Bar.
