How to Get Your Taxes Prepped Free Thanks to UM Volunteers
Tax season can be a real headache, but a local program is stepping up to ease the burden for many in our community.
GET TO KNOW "VITA"
Individuals or families, if you're struggling with how to get your basic tax returns done economically while achieving the most benefit, the University of Montana is offering a program on Saturdays through March 14.
University of Montana College of Business students with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) will donate their time to help hundreds of people in the Missoula community file their taxes. The program offers free tax help to individuals or families who make $60,000 or less.
Certified volunteers from UM receive training to help prepare basic tax returns in the community. Use of the program is by appointment only.
