A decade is a long time, yet it can seem to fly by in the blink of an eye. It seem like just yesterday that Missoula got it's own hurling team. As a matter of fact, Missoula actually has two hurling teams. The University of Montana Grizzlies Hurling team and the Thomas Meagher Hurling Club.

Plenty of Ways To Cheer On the Griz This Weekend

This weekend is going to be an exciting weekend for spring sports in Missoula. Kicking off on Friday will be the University of Montana's "Spring Festival". There will be multiple games taking place, football, tennis, softball, volleyball and if you attend them all and collect eggs from each of them you will be in the running for some prizes. This is a great way to support the different Grizzly athletics and win something cool.

The "10 Year Tournament" is Coming To Missoula on Saturday

On Saturday there will be some hurling. Not the normal weekend kind, but the fast paced, oldest sport in the world kind. It will the the 10th Anniversary of University of Montana Hurling. In those ten years they have won four national championships. Not a bad start for a team from Missoula. This Saturday at Washington Grizzly Stadium at 12:30pm will be the "10 Year Tournament". According to their Facebook page, this is what you can expect:

Celebrate 10 years of Montana hurling with us in Washington-Grizzly stadium! Griz hurlers from the past will join the Butte Wolfe Tones, your Thomas Meagher Hurling Club, as well as friends and family from the past ten years to put on a tournament like no other!

At 6:00 pm the Press Box is hosting our Celebration of Griz Hurling! Come have a bite to eat, a drink to enjoy, and share in all the stories collected over the years! See you there!
