Protect Your Family: Free Covid-19 Tests Available In Montana
When the weather cools down in Montana most of us will start heading indoors for things like school, and concerts. People will be spending more time in close proximity with each other, like at Griz games. That could increase the chances for people to catch sickness from others.
Over the past couple of weeks I have known multiple people who have tested positive for Covid. The CDC has announced that they will be sending out up to 4 free tests per household for those who want them.
The tests that I have seen in the stores range in price from $9.99 up to $14.99, depending on if they are on sale or not. For some people getting tests for free can save them up to $60 per household. Households will be able to start ordering the tests at the end of September right here.
According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services "The Covid-19 tests will detect current Covid-19 variants and can be used through the end of the year." They also mention that many Covid tests have extended expiration dates and if you want to check to see if your tests have expired or not you can check the FDA's website here.
The CDC guidelines have changed since the beginning of the pandemic, about what steps to take if you test positive for Covid-19 and how to help prevent the spread of the virus. Fall is also the time when the flu virus starts making the rounds. Local pharmacies have already started alerting people about getting the flu vaccine for the season.
Please take caution and be safe this fall season.
