Being a landlocked state hundreds of miles from the nearest coast, finding good seafood in Montana can sometimes be difficult. I am a seafood fan. When I get a chance to eat good seafood, I am usually excited.

Missoula used to have more seafood restaurants, but over the years we have seen a lot of them close their doors. Missoula, and other parts of Montana occasionally see seafood food trucks travel through the area, but they only stay for a short time and mostly only serve fish and chips.

Montana does have it's share of quality sushi restaurant options. But sushi restaurants aren't in the same category as seafood restaurants.

Montana's Best Seafood is in Missoula

When you are in the mood for some quality seafood there is one restaurant in Montana that is considered the best, that is according to Cheapism.com. They have listed the best seafood restaurant in each state and The Keep, in Missoula, has made their list for the best seafood in Montana.

The Keep is located at 102 Ben Hogan Drive in the South Hills of Missoula. It is not only considered one of the best seafood restaurants in town, it also boasts one of the best views for a restaurant in town overlooking the Missoula Valley. It is also home to the Highlands Golf Course.

The history of The Keep was born from the Shadow's Keep, which was a mansion that burned down in June of 1992. It was then rebuilt and opened as The Keep a little over a year later. Whenever a restaurant makes a list as the "best in Montana" it seems to always start a debate.
