Move Over Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Here’s Where to Find Pumpkin Beer in Missoula

I got a text from a friend earlier this week asking me to visit my neighborhood grocery store because she was looking for Elysian's Night Owl Pumpkin Beer. I told her I hadn't seen it yet but hadn’t been to the store in several days.  

I had some shopping to do, so I visited the beer section because I also love pumpkin beer. I thought I'd get some for myself and let her know if it was there. But it turns out there wasn't any. In fact, I couldn't find any brand of beer with a pumpkin option. There was one beer, but it was pumpkin spice latte-flavored beer and that wasn't exactly what I was looking for. 

With the Halloween creep and decorations appearing in stores as early as July this year, I started to worry that pumpkin beer had already come and gone. I remember when it was unusual to see pumpkin beer at my local grocery store in August. But visiting the store only days before October and not finding any? What the heck was going on?

It's times like these when I'm so glad I can put this out to our listeners to point me in the right direction. I got great recommendations about where I could find pumpkin beer in Missoula. Here are the ones that were recommended to me.  

Orange Street Food Farm 

I checked online and it looks like OSFF has the Elysian Pumpkin Pack which comes with 

• The Great Pumpkin – Imperial Pumpkin Ale 
• Dark O’ the Moon – Pumpkin Stout 
• Punkuccion – Coffee Pumpkin Ale 
• Night Owl – Pumpkin Ale 

They also have Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale. 

Big Head’s Bottle Shop 

They posted several options to their Facebook page and may have more in their store.
