Montanans Prove They’re Among America’s Most Generous
Montanans take care of their own. Growing up in Montana, I witnessed this firsthand. I have seen people help drivers who are stuck on the side of the road. I have seen people drop off toys, coats, and food for drives around this time of year.
I have also seen generous people open their checkbooks and wallets to help those in need. Being a part of charity fundraisers over the years has also been one of the most important and rewarding parts of my job.
How Montana’s Culture Shapes Generosity
Now we have proof of just how generous Montanans are. According to NetCredit, the company analyzed which states give the most to GoFundMe campaigns, and Montana ranks second only behind New York state for giving the most contributions.

What the GoFundMe Data Reveals
The median total raised by Montanans is $2,345. New Yorkers have raised $2,384. Wyoming’s median total is the least in the country at $1,000.
Why So Many Americans Rely on GoFundMe
The sad part about these findings is the number of people who rely on GoFundMe campaigns to raise money for life-changing events.
The good news is that it reaffirms my belief that Montanans do help each other more than almost all other states in the country. Please keep up the good work and your generosity.
