As Santa spent time checking his list, we knew there was no doubt that Montana would make the nice list. Even though he checked his list twice, Montana still made the “nice” list.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise to many; Montana is filled with nice and generous people, who not only take care of themselves; they take care of others.

Sera Capital has built a list of which states belong on the “naughty” list and which states belong on the “nice” list. Montana is the fourth-best state on the nice list this year.

How the Nice and Naughty Lists Were Determined

The list was based on things like volunteering hours, how much states spend on gifts, waitstaff tipping, losing their cool during Black Friday shopping, and more.

The state with the highest ranking on the nice list is Kentucky, followed by Utah and Nebraska. Not all states have made the nice list, there is also the naughty list.

Leading the pack for the naughty list is Hawaii, followed by Arkansas, South Dakota, and Arizona.
