
Why Skiers Are Excited About Montana’s 2025 Winter Forecast
Montana so far, has seen a mild fall, which was forecasted by the Old Farmer’s Almanac and NOAA. Some areas have seen some record high temperatures, but winter will eventually make its way into Montana. From the forecasts we are seeing, it looks like it may be a very good season for skiing and snowboarding this winter.

NOAA has released their late winter forecast, and it calls for above-normal precipitation and below-normal temperatures.
AccuWeather Joins NOAA in Snowy Outlook
We can now add AccuWeather’s forecast to the mix. They are calling for more of the same, and it looks like we are in for some good winter skiing and snowboarding.

According to their forecast, the Northwest, including Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming, are in for some of the best skiing in the country. They are calling for “an abundance of snow” in the region.
When Will the Snow Arrive in Montana?
Now, the question is when will this happen? Their forecast is calling for the best snow to arrive midwinter, with a break in January and then a recharge happening at the beginning of spring.
With the forecasts we have seen for fall and winter this year, it looks like the seasons are shifting. Being able to golf across much of Montana in mid-November is unusual. If the forecast is accurate, our winter may be sticking around a little longer next year as we wait patiently for spring to arrive.
It may take a little longer for winter and snow to get here this year, but that will give you more time to tune up your skis and boards and get into shape for an epic season.
