TikToker Crunched the Numbers, You Can’t Afford a Home in Montana
Lately my social media feeds have been filled with content about Montana. Some of it has been pretty cool, like the British vacationers who spent some time in Montana, and the local musician Chloe Gendrow, who is working to make a career in music.
Then Andrew Brady showed up on my feed. He doesn't have that many followers, but he does create some interesting content. He analyzes how much it would take for the average person to be able to afford a home in different cities. People request cities, and he crunches the numbers.
Some of his followers have been requesting that he analyze towns in Montana. He looks at down payments, interest rates, and average home prices. Brady has looked at Billings, Missoula, Bozeman, and Helena.
Montana Housing Out of Reach of Locals
He found the same thing in each video. The average person in Montana can't afford to purchase a home anymore. It doesn't look like Brady is located in Montana. He mispronounces Helena in one of his videos. He doesn't seem to have any emotional investment in what he found. He just looks at the numbers.

The more the spotlight is on Montana and the more people from other places want to move here, the more expensive it has become. The numbers back that up.

The latest Montana video that Brady posted pretty much sums up the bad news. The average Montanan can't afford to buy a home and live here. His suggestion is that people move away to find cheaper places to call home.

If we can take any good news from his videos, it's that he is letting everyone know, what we have known for a long time, and that Montana is just too expensive.
Maybe if we can pass this information along to everyone else, we may eventually see some sort of decline in the high cost of living here. It may take some time, but I have hope it will happen someday. I, personally, don't want to leave the state I have called home for my entire life. You can see the video below.
