Montana’s live music scene keeps leveling up, and now it’s getting some serious national recognition.

Major Acts and Festivals: A New Destination

From major stadium show announcements like Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean coming to Washington–Grizzly Stadium to homegrown favorites like Under the Big Sky, Zootown Festival, and Red Ants Pants Music Festival, it’s clear Montana isn’t just a pass-through state anymore. It is becoming a destination.

Now, another festival is stepping into the spotlight in a big way.

Spotlight on Fire in the Mountains Festival

Spin Magazine recently highlighted the Fire in the Mountains Festival, a one-of-a-kind event set for July 23 to 26 on the Blackfeet Reservation in the Rocky Mountains.

This isn’t your typical festival lineup. It leans hard into darker, heavier sounds with artists like Neurosis, 16 Horsepower, and Enslaved, making it a must-see for fans of heavy, atmospheric music.

But what really sets it apart is the mission behind it.

The festival is partnered with the Firekeeper Alliance, a nonprofit focused on suicide prevention and mental wellness within the Blackfeet Nation. That connection gives the event a deeper purpose, turning it into more than just a weekend of music.

A Cultural Experience: Roots in the Blackfeet Nation

Originally launched in Jackson, Wyoming in 2018, the festival has since found a powerful home in Montana, where the landscape and community help shape the experience into something truly unique.

Yes, it is going to be loud. Yes, it is going to be heavy. But it is also about connection, culture, and giving back.
