It may really be an epic ski season this winter in Montana. Last year, we didn't have the best year due to the weather and lack of snowfall. Their forecast takes into account what we may expect from the ENSO (El Niño Southern Oscillation), as well as the PDO (Pacific Decadal Oscillation). In simple terms, it is looking at the jet flow and the Pacific Ocean patterns that all can affect our weather. The summary outlook for Montana is looking like we are going to have some deep powder and a lot of it over the upcoming winter. They are calling it a "robust snow season". This is, of course, a forecast, we won't know until it happens. There is one way to help the season out and that is with a party.

The 18th Annual Pray for Snow party is planned for this Friday night in Caras Park, Downtown Missoula. There will be a costume contest, raffle and silent auction, food trucks, music, and more. Proceeds will help support the West Central Montana Avalanche Center.
