Missoula’s Best Asian Restaurants: A Hidden Gem Tops the List

More and more people are relying on online ratings to determine their spending habits these days. Whenever my family and I travel to a new town and look for a good place to eat, the first thing we do is look up nearby restaurants and check out their ratings. It has come in handy many times.  

Missoula Locals Share Their Favorite Asian Restaurants

Recently, we asked our listeners if they could bring back one restaurant from Missoula’s past, what it would be. Out of the hundreds of responses we received, there were a lot of them that mentioned Asian restaurants from Missoula’s past. Ming’s, The Golden Pheasant, The Bangkok, Sa Wah Dee, and Hu Hot were mentioned more than once. I am still trying to find a spicy fried rice like the one The Bangkok used to make.

Even though those restaurants may be long gone, there is still a great selection of excellent Asian restaurants in Missoula to choose from.  

According to Stacker, using Yelp’s ratings as of August 2025, Missoula’s highest-rated Asian restaurant is a hidden gem and may be a surprise to some. Dobi’s Teriyaki, located at 123 W. Front Street, inside Stockman’s Bar, specializes in “Seattle-style teriyaki.” Dobi’s started out as a food truck in 2014 and has been able to thrive with a brick-and-mortar location.
