Speculation Swirls Over VIP Causing Missoula Airspace Restrictions

Missoula's airspace is going to be temporarily restricted for "VIP movement" this weekend, June 7-10 according to the FAA. Pilots are being notified that they can expect temporary airspace restrictions over the weekend.

There was speculation that Elon Musk spent some time in Missoula as recently as last weekend. Just because someone's jet is in town doesn't necessarily mean they are on it.

If Elon Musk's jet was actually in town and the FAA didn't announce any restricted airspace for him then the question becomes: who is a big enough VIP to warrant that? There has been no official word that President Trump is making plans to visit Missoula this weekend. I think we all would have known that by now. So who could it be?

Could it be a celebrity or an international dignitary? We have celebrities fly in and out of Montana all the time since a lot of them call Montana home. Justin Timberlake, Tom Brady, and more spend time in Montana. Normally they fly into Bozeman to spend time at the exclusive Yellowstone Club.

From what I have heard and read online is that the VIP could possibly be Vice President J.D. Vance and his family. There is no confirmation of who it will be for sure, but there are very few people who can travel and have the FAA restrict the airspace.
