September is fast approaching, and Libby, Montana is gearing up for an event that's sure to be a chainsaw-wielding spectacle – the Clash of the Carvers is back, also known as the Kootenai Country Montana International Chainsaw Carving Championship. This exciting competition will bring together talented woodcarvers from across the globe to showcase their skills and compete for one of the "richest prize purses anywhere on earth."

The Clash of the Carvers will take place starting Thursday September 5th and wrap up on Sunday September 8th. The amount of talented artists in one location with the goal of turning a piece of wood into a work of art is astonishing.

This truly is an international competition with artists from Scotland, Canada, Wales, Zimbabwe, Lithuania, Argentina, Mongolia, Australia, and the U.S all competing for some big money. Last year carvers competed for $15,000 in prize money. Last year's winner was Chris Wood from Wales.

In addition to the carving competition, the Clash of the Carvers will also feature a variety of other activities and attractions. There will be live music, food vendors, and a kids' zone with games and activities. Local artisans and crafters will also be on hand to sell their wares. For the kids there will be a soap carving workshop, kids safe axe throwing, a bounce house, a dunk tank, and more.
