There are four words that can make almost anyone happy, "You're getting a raise". I'm not sure I have ever met anyone who wouldn't like to hear those words. Working hard and getting recognized for it, is something that a lot of workers strive to make happen. In Montana, if you start at the bottom and work your way up, you may eventually get paid more money than people in a lot of other states.
According to Career.io, Montana ranks high when it comes to pay increases as workers gain experience in their fields. Their analysis focused on the pay gap between "entry level and experienced level workers" with figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Montana is one of the highest ranking states when it comes to salary increases.
Montana's Ranking For Pay Increases
The top three states that have seen the most income increase are Florida, Missouri, and Utah. Montana ranks just behind Utah on this list. Their numbers are, of course, averages. Workers in Montana can see an average of as much as a 34% increase in hourly pay the longer a person stays in that job or career. Montana ranks high in some career choices and there are few jobs that pay higher than others here.

The careers with the biggest pay increase in Montana are "accountants and auditors". Those careers have seen a 140% average increase in hourly pay. For me it may be a bit too late to become and accountant or start a career in the medical field. But for those that are looking for a change in direction or just starting out on their career path, these numbers may help a person decide which career to consider.
