This is pretty cool and generating a fair amount of buzz.

Have you heard of Funk It? It's a business that was started by Montanans, cousins, and U of M alums Markie and Chloë. They love coffee and hate waste (that's the very short version, there's a longer version here) so they started Funk It Coffee + Thrift.

They started with pop-up thrift events around Missoula but now, they're excited to share that they'll be moving into a physical location on the Northside of Missoula in the summer of 2024.

But what's especially interesting and downright special about their move to a physical location, is the way they're going about it. They're trying to set up the space with second-hand items--even the bar where they'll serve coffee.

In a reel on Instagram, they show how they deconstructed the bar a the old Kettlehouse Bar on the Northside of Missoula. But what's even more fun is that bar was made from a bowling alley at Liberty Lanes, which closed years ago.

That means the bowling alley will have lived in three Missoula locations: Liberty Lanes, Kettlehouse Brewing, and now Funk it Coffee and Thrift.

It's heartwarming to see a part of Missoula have a continued life in a new location. As to where that location is, we'll all have to wait and see. The owners of Funk It posted a sneak peek of the new location but say the "official location reveal [will be] happening soon!" Though, they acknowledge that some have already figured it out.

If you are interested in supporting the shop, they have both a Funk It Thrift Club and a Funk It Coffee Club that will help support the business as they prepare to open later this summer.
