If we are talking about foods, like cheese, that would be something that I would assume I had to either fly somewhere overseas or special order to get some of the best in the world here in Montana. That isn't the case. Even though the cheese isn't made in Montana, you might be able to find some at stores in our state.

According to Food and Wine the world's best cheddar comes from the farmer-owned dairy in Tillamook, Oregon. You can find Tillamook cheese and ice cream in lots of Montana stores. The specific cheese that has been named the 'Best Cheddar In the World' is their 'Maker's Reserve 2014 Extra Sharp White Cheddar'.

With the cheese honored as the best in the world, it may not be as easy to get your hands on as it once was. According to Tillamook's website, their current stock of the cheese is sold out.

If you ever get the chance to visit the Tillamook factory on the way to the Oregon coast, I highly recommend it. You get to watch the process of how their cheeses and ice creams are made and, of course, you get the chance to purchase some of the world's best cheddar cheese. In the meantime keep your eyes peeled when browsing your local cheese aisle, you never know when you can pick some up and give it a try.
