You May Hear Different Kinds Of Animals In Missoula Now
Missoula is growing and changing. There is no way around it. If you have been here for any length of time, you are aware that we have changed dramatically over the years. There is always the argument about whether these changes are good or bad, but either way, things change. In Missoula, it has already been legal to own chickens and certain livestock within the city limits. Now we can add even more animals to the list of what is legal to keep within the city limits of Missoula.
Sheep, Goats and More In Missoula
FFA and 4-H students can now keep a wider variety of animals in Missoula; than they have been able to in the past. Students can now keep market sheep, goats, poultry, geese, ducks, and rabbits within city limits. This doesn't mean that anyone can just start keeping goats in their yard. There are a lot of rules and regulations that must be followed in order for this to all be legal.
With Animals There Are Rules In Missoula
You can read the full list of regulations on the Missoula County website. This will give students who are a part of 4-H and FFA an opportunity to participate in the programs without having to keep their animals outside of the city. It will also give the city a different sound.
Seeing a Goat Go For A Walk In Missoula
I think it will be interesting to see where these new changes go. You may see a goat or sheep on a leash going for a walk around Missoula. If any 4-H or FFA students that have a goat or sheep would like to bring them to my yard in the summer to help me keep my lawn trimmed, let me know. I may have just found a way to get rid of my lawnmower after all.
