The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced a recall for a popular food product that is sold at Montana Costco Stores.

LSI, Incorporated, is recalling over 2 million pounds of its GOLDEN ISLAND fire-grilled PORK JERKY Korean BARBECUE recipe that is available at both Sam’s Clubs and Costco stores in Montana.

The reason for the recall is that the jerky can possibly be contaminated with pieces of metal. There have been multiple complaints of consumers finding pieces of metal in their packages of jerky. At this time there have been no reports of injury.

What Products Are Affected by the Recall?

The jerky products have a shelf life of up to a year, and they have “best by” dates ranging from October 23, 2025, through September 23, 2026.

One of the concerns about this recall is the possibility of the product being stored in consumers’ pantries. The FSIS is urging customers not to consume the product; they are urged to throw the product away or return it to the place of purchase.

Montana has two Sam’s Club locations in Great Falls and Billings, and five Costco locations.

You can see the labels and the full list of items that are included in the recall below. Consumers with questions are encouraged to reach out to LSI at info@goldenislandjerky.com.
