One of my favorite events here in Western Montana happens every year, and it's become something I look forward to every summer. It's the Fáilte Irish Festival in Missoula, which is put on by the Friends of Irish Studies in the West.

Mark Your Calendars for the Fáilte Irish Festival

This year is no different. Another great event is planned for Friday, Aug. 28, from 2:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Caras Park in downtown Missoula.

This year's a big one because they've got a fantastic band. If you haven't had a chance to see The Young Dubliners live, I would highly recommend it. They put on a great show, and they're going to be headlining this year's festival.

Of course, there'll be live Irish music all day, Irish dancers, food trucks, Irish food, local beer, beverages, arts and crafts, and local vendors. Ever wanted to learn hurling? They'll have demonstrations. Want to learn a little bit of the Irish language? They'll have that too.

It's just a really fun community event.

The Celtic Dragon Pipe Band is always proud to be a part of it, and it's something we look forward to every year.

The best part? Admission is free, so just show up and enjoy the day.

So mark Friday, August 28th, on your calendar and plan on spending some time at Caras Park for the Fáilte Irish Festival. We'd love to see you out there.
