Changes To One of The Most Fun Runs In Missoula

Missoula is a running community. It has been for years. It took the creation of the Missoula Marathon to put Missoula on the running map globally, but there are plenty of other runs to choose from that happen all year long. Not everyone can run a full marathon or even half a marathon, that is why there are so many other options. Some running events are serious, while others; are more fun for everyone.  

One of my Favorite Missoula Runs

One of my favorite runs that are put on by Run Wild Missoula, is the "Run for the Luck of It". I am not a runner, but if I was, this would be “the” run for me. This run takes place around St. Patrick’s Day. With St. Patrick’s Day falling on a Friday this year, the run is scheduled for Saturday, March 11, from 8 am-noon. 

A Different Location The Year In Missoula

This particular run has been held in different locations throughout Missoula. For the first time this year it will be held at the Missoula Fairgrounds. There are so many great things about this run. Costumes are encouraged, I would suggest something green. Food and drink will be available after the event. This year the post-race celebrations will be held in the Culinary #16 building at the fairgrounds. 

You Don't Have To Run

There will be a 7-mile run and a 5k run this year. If you don't feel like running you can always walk the course. It really is a fun run. I have had the honor of playing with the Celtic Dragon Pipe Band at this event over the years, depending on the weather. We have always had a fantastic time playing for the runners and walkers.  

Registration Is On Now Missoula

Registration is open for the race. Get out your running shoes, and the green and have fun just “For the Luck of It”.
